made great plans

Here it is almost Fall of the year. Looking back my garden and me didn't produce a whole lot for the year...Last Winter while I was planning on what I would plant in my wee garden I had great plans, Then the new year came and I seemed alittle slower about getting things started...I did planted some tomatoes , peppers inside before danger of the first frost, I don't know if I planted them too early or to late, they didn't make it. I had to buy some tomato plants and a few pepper plants ...The tomatoes really didn't produce a whole lot, the ones that did make it...or didn't get eaten by critters.
I did manage to plant some cantaloupe and did harvest about three of them and, they were yummy. But I did want to plant more so I could give away or possibly sell. I did manage to plant some watermelon as well, still waiting on them to be harvested. I also planted pumpkin, not doing good at all, I think I planted it too late...Oh how I wanted to eat fresh watermelon and have a pumpkin from my own garden instead of buying from the store....You know, it is so much nicer to come from your own garden instead of the store or your local farmers market stand...
But looking back on this past year, most of the time I really didn't feel that great to be working in the garden, My back did hurt a lot and still does. The weeds have taken over in some areas  of my garden...I am trying to battle back even with my back hurting and bouts of sickness( diarrhea, yes , I said, and other things )
So now that it is fall weather I have started cleaning up the garden and working on redoing some parts of it. Hopefully I will get the parts done that I am redoing before next Spring. I want to do better in the garden next Spring. I do want to feel better as well.....
Well that is all for now I need to go and do my morning chores....yes I wrote this this morning

going a different direction...sorta

The title is somewhat true, sorta of...I have been going at my garden for many years and I have tried a few chemicals, not that many because of the cost( extremely tight budget).
Anyways I do not do chemicals and I just don't like putting those things on my garden. I have fought with bugs, not the good kind....so I have tried a few things, but not that many due to cost issues....well I am tired of it...Bugs....I hate Japanese Beetles, aphids.....etc....so

so this is my first step
Sea Minerals, trying to do things organically
this will combat the aphid problem I have been told
My first spray on the plants was this past weekend, so hopefully this will work
I will spray again in two weeks...
I only have a 1 quart sprayer so I put 1 teaspoon of Sea mineral to the quart of water plus added 1 drop of liquid dish soap( Dawn)
now I need to find some Calcium Nitrate that is the other thing a person who grows organically ( veggies) told me....
this is to stop the aphids, hopefully

well that is all for now
